Shoji
< 1/2 >
"In a celebration of Hallingdal 65’s longevity Kvadrat has invited a new generation of designers to create entirely new works using the textile and explore new applications for the fabric."
Shoji is a proposal for use of the Kvadrat Hallingdall fabric in an architectural feature. Inspired by the traditional Japanese Shoji sliding doors normally composed from wooden frames and paper. In this project two wooden frames have been tensioned with the iconic Hallingdal fabric. In order to create translucency the same technique as of the Shelter collection has been applied; by unthreading the fabric by hand new compositions have been created in the cloth. Creating both a translucent effect as beautiful decorative patterns.
